首先，weather 的意思是“天气”，指一个地区在短时间内的气象情况 。例如：
1.What’s the weather like today?
今天天气如何？
2.Several flights were cancelled owing to bad weather.
由于天气恶劣，有几个航班被取消了 。
3.Whatever the weather, he sticks out walking outdoors.
无论天气好坏，他总坚持到户外散步 。
4.Some plants flag in hot, dry weather.
一些植物在干旱的天气里会枯萎 。
另外，还需要注意的是weather为不可数名词，所以不能在前面加不定冠词，但是weather还有一个特殊用法，weather虽然是不可数名词，但在表示“各种各样的天气”，或“不论哪种天气”等类表达时，，weather要用复数 。如：
5.We go out in all weathers.
什么天气我们都外出 。
6.Football is played in all weathers, including rain and snow.
我们可以在各种天气下玩橄榄球，包括雨天和雪天 。
7.Rules in this Part shall be complied with in all weathers.
本规则各条在各种天气条件下都应遵守 。
另外一个词climate 一般翻译为“气候”更为合适，climate一般指的是某地区比较长的时间，如一季的天气状况 。
8.These two regions differ greatly in climate.
这两个地区气候差异很大 。
9.He began to season the arid climate in the Middle East.
他开始适应了中东的干热气候 。
10.We are all victims of climate change.
我们都是气候变化的受害者 。
11.What should we do about climate change?
面对气候变化，我们应当做什么？
